My husband and I drove from Florida to Dallas, Texas for our friends wedding! It was a great thing that we drove our Armada, because we were the major “taxi” for our group. We brought lots of different whiskeys to try and share.
One mistake - I really should have been more involved in the hotel room reservation because I specifically said we needed to get a suite with a living room since we had all the drinks and people would like to stop into our room and we needed space. But my husband didn’t do that, so we ended up with a basic room, and it was crowded every night!
Driving this route had some very weird experiences, driving thru the middle of nowhere is kind of unnerving, especially at night. I was so relieved when we finally crossed over into Florida!
The panhandle of Florida is so long - we drove for about 6 hours and we were still in Florida! We stayed overnight at a hotel in the panhandle and the finished the drive to Texas. We also drove thru Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
